NStar cited for dedication to tree care

NStar has been cited as a ‘‘Tree Line USA Utility’’ by the National Arbor Day Foundation for its dedication to tree care.

NStar, which provides electricity to Boston and about 80 suburbs, said its tree maintenance program combines planning by arborists and foresters, "proactive community involvement, and natural pruning that replaces the outdated line-clearing practice of ‘topping’ trees.’’
