Realty firm acquires a boutique brokerage

Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty has acquired another residential brokerage in Boston, Dickerson Real Estate.

Dickerson, a boutique firm headed by Beth Dickerson, specializes in luxury properties in the Back Bay, Beacon Hill, South End, and other Boston neighborhoods.

Terms were not disclosed.

Gibson Sotheby’s was formed with last year’s purchase of Gibson DomainDomain, then Boston’s largest independent real estate agency, by local businessmen who then made it a franchise of Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates Inc.

The real estate industry has been consolidating for the past decade, but the trend has accelerated during current real estate slump.
