Sepracor launches respiratory drug
Sepracor Inc. said today its Brovana inhalation solution is now available by prescription for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Sepracor, a Marlborough drug maker perhaps best known for its insomnia treatment Lunesta, also has a focus on respiratory disorders.
Brovana is a long-term maintenance treatment of bronchoconstriction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema, the company said; Brovana is for use by nebulization only.
"The launch of Brovana expands our respiratory portfolio of products, which includes Xopenex Inhalation Solution and Xopenex HFA metered-dose inhaler, into the 13th largest prescription drug market in the US," Sepracor president Adrian Adams said in a statement.
