Third generation ascends at Gregorian Rugs

Gregorian Oriental Rugs Inc. of Newton named J. Scott Gregorian as its president.

Gregorian is the third generation at the helm of a 73-year-old family business founded by his grandfather, the late Arthur T. Gregorian, the company said.

John B. Gregorian, J. Scott Gregorian's father and the outgoing president of the company, will remain as chairman, the company said.

"I have been very lucky to have learned from the best - from the masters of the rug-making world and from my own father and grandfather," J. Scott Gregorian said in a statement. "I feel fortunate to be in the position to lead our company into the future and have the opportunity to maintain the high standards established by two earlier generations of Gregorians."
