Personal trainer sues Wellbridge
A personal trainer at a Cambridge health club filed a lawsuit against his employer for failing to pay time-and-a-half wages for overtime work, said the lawyer who represents him.
Shannon Liss-Riordan of the Boston law firm of Pyle, Rome, Lichten, Ehrenberg & Liss-Riordan, P.C., said she filed the suit yesterday in US District Court in Boston on behalf of Boris Mogilevsky and other personal trainers "similarly situated."
Liss-Riordan said she has filed many similar cases on behalf of employees who have not been paid for overtime or other wages owed to them.
The suit filed yesterday alleges that Mogilevsky's employer, Wellbridge Club Management Inc., a Colorado-based chain of fitness clubs, paid him straight time, not time and a half, for overtime hours as required by law.
"At this point, we have no comment," a Wellbridge spokeswoman said.
