Aurora Imaging Technology Inc. today named Paul Ching-Wu Chu, a specialist in superconductivity, to its advisory board.
Aurora Imaging, a privately held company in North Andover, focuses on breast cancer with such products as the 1.5Telsa Dedicated Breast MRI System.
Chu is the president of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Aurora Imaging said, and he and his team discovered stable superconductivity above the boiling point of liquid nitrogen.
"Superconductivity is the cornerstone of MRI technology," Aurora chief executive Olivia Ho Cheng noted in a statement.
