Clean Harbors issues positive forecast

Clean Harbors Inc., which provides environmental and hazardous waste management, said today that it expects positive market trends and cost cutting to help results in 2007, and it also offered second-quarter guidance.

The company said a rebound from the first-quarter's "seasonally slow" period will boost revenue, increase incineration utilization and raise operating margins.

Specifically, Clean Harbors expects second-quarter earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization to be between $33 million and $36 million. Also, it sees revenue between $225 million and $230 million for the quarter.

For full-year 2007, the company expects of earnings before taxes, interest, depreciation and amortization will grow 12 percent or 13 percent, implying $134.3 million to $135.5 million. Clean Harbors sees annual sales up 8 percent or 9 percent, implying revenue of $896.2 million to $904.5 million. Analysts expect revenue of $905.2 million.
