Honey Dew Donuts announced today it will award $250 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in all of its local franchise communities.
According to the website for the Plainville-based chain, there are more than 150 Honey Dew shops "sprinkled throughout New England."
The scholarships were established in 1999 to recognize local students and help offset such expenses as college books, the company said; to date, Honey Dew Donuts has awarded nearly 400 scholarships and close to $100,000 to high school seniors in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
Interested seniors can contact their guidance counselors to apply for the scholarship, Honey Dew Donuts said.
