Lynnfield Meadow Walk gets approval
The Meadow Walk at Lynnfield, a proposed mixed-use project, received town meeting approval of a zoning request Monday, the project's developer said.
With the Meadow Walk at Lynnfield, developer National Development of Newton is proposing to turn part of a golf course into a pedestrian-friendly "village" that will incorporate 395,000 square feet of lifestyle retail, 80,000 square feet of office space, and 180 residential units; the developer said its proposal would preserve 103 acres of permanent open space for the community.
In pursuing the project, National Development said it received approval from Lynnfield town meeting voters to rezone the 202-acre Sheraton Colonial Golf Course site adjacent to Route 128.
"Meadow Walk at Lynnfield is a premier example of innovative, mixed-use development where people will be able to live, work, shop, and play," Ted Tye, managing partner for National Development, said in a statement.
