Gasoline prices rose an average of 7 cents per gallon over the past week in Massachusetts, the 13th straight weekly increase.

A statewide survey today by AAA of Southern New England found an average price of $2.93 per gallon of self-service regular unleaded, compared with $2.86 a week earlier.

Gas prices in the state are now the highest they have been since August. They have risen each week since Feb. 5, when a gallon cost $2.15.

However, Massachusetts gas prices remain below the national average. A nationwide Lundberg Survey released Sunday found an average price of more than $3.07 per gallon. (AP)
