Sentrigo Inc. said it has secured $3.5 million in financing as the new company opens its US headquarters in Woburn.

The Israeli company said it is set to launch a database security software product; that software is designed to help enterprise customers combat unauthorized database activities originating from privileged company insiders as well as from those outside the organization.

According to Sentrigo's web site, the software provides real-time monitoring, intrusion prevention, and auditing "with unprecedented granularity and protection."

Sentrigo said the $3.5 million in Series A financing came from Benchmark Capital, a venture capital firm with offices in Menlo Park, Calif.
