SolidWorks powers robotic winners

SolidWorks Corp. said two robots designed with its software were winners in a high school robotics competitions.
With offices in Concord, SolidWorks is part of Dassault Systemes S.A., a French firm that develops and markets software for design, analysis, and product data management.
In one competition, a team from the Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science came up with a winning design for a robot that could place inner tubes on pegs and lift other robots a foot in the air, SolidWorks said.
In a BattleBots IQ competition, which was created from the BattleBots TV show, Plymouth North High School won in the best engineering documentation category, SolidWorks said.
