Dusa widens Levulan distribution

Dusa Pharmaceuticals Inc. of Wilmington said today that the first shipment of one of its dermatology products has been released to Argentina and Mexico.

The product, Levulan Kerastick, will be officially launched through Dusa's marketing partner, Stiefel Laboratories Inc., Dusa said.

According to Dusa, Levulan photodynamic therapy is an advanced, two-step treatment for certain forms of actinic keratoses - rough, scaly patches on the skin caused by excessive exposure to ultraviolet light such as sunlight.

Dusa said it expects Levulan to be available soon in Chile and Brazil as well.
