Axsys Technologies opens new Nashua facility

Axsys Technologies Inc. said today that it celebrated the opening of its new manufacturing facility in Nashua, N.H.

Headquartered in Rocky Hill, Conn., the company specializes in the design and manufacturing of surveillance and imaging systems for the defense industry and commercial customers.

Axsys Technologies said in a press release about its Nashua operations: "The new 67,000 square foot facility nearly doubles Axsys Technologies’ current manufacturing space, providing the additional capacity the company needs to meet its expected future growth. Since the beginning of 2007, Axsys has added more than 100 employees to its Nashua-based operations, bringing its total headcount to 330. The company is currently recruiting for 50 new positions."

The company added that it operates throughout the country, employing nearly 1,000 people nationally.
