Chambers will expand Lynnfield car dealership

Local auto magnate Herb Chambers held a ground-breaking ceremony today for the expansion of his Mercedes-Benz dealership in Lynnfield.

The 18,000-square-foot expansion of the existing facility will include a 2,400-square-foot showroom for the smart car. Please click here to read a December story in the Globe about the smart car. The Lynnfield project is scheduled for completion in the summer.

A spokesman for Chambers noted that this was the fourth ground-breaking ceremony this year for Chambers, who owns 45 dealerships throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
