citysports1027.jpg City Sports, a retail chain specializing in sports equipment, said today that it has moved its corporate headquarters from Wilmington to Boston's North End.

City Sports said its distribution center will remain in Wilmington.

"Our move demonstrates City Sports' re-energized commitment to delivering the best experience to our target segment, the city athlete," Jeff Connor, the chain's president, said in a statement. "Historically our headquarters were always in the city, and we're thrilled to be back."

Last week, City Sports said it opened a store in suburban Washington, D.C., the 15th store in the chain.

Another new store, this one in Manhattan, is set to open early next year, the company said.
