CitySquares.com gears up for national rollout
CitySquares.com, a Boston firm specializing in hyper-local search in the Northeast, said it will begin a national rollout in November.
By the spring of 2009, the site is expected to feature more than 16 million businesses from coast to coast, up from the current database of 1.5 million, the company said.
The rollout begins as CitySquares secures investments from Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team and the chairman of HDNet, and from Jonathan Kraft (right), president and chief operating officer of the Kraft Group. The Kraft Group's interests include the New England Patriots football team. A CitySquares.com press release did not elaborate on the amount of the investments that Cuban and Kraft put into the company.
The press release included a statement from Jonathan Kraft, who said, "We are looking forward to working with CitySquares to leverage their strength in local search to benefit our business interests, like Patriot Place, and also for other local companies that can benefit from CitySquares' expertise."
