Corindus Inc. of Natick announced the appointment of David M. Handler as president and chief executive.
Corindus is focused on the continued development and subsequent commercialization of the company's vascular robotic system. According to the company, the system's open architecture robotic arm manipulates standard cath lab devices with physician guidance, allowing for the accurate placement of guide wires and balloon/stent delivery systems from a remote workstation.
Handler, who started in his position Oct 1, replaced Frank Martin, said the company, which added that before joining Corindus, Handler spent more than 20 years at General Electric.
