Dunkin’ Donuts, the Canton-based coffee-and-baked goods chain, said it plans to celebrate the Boston Celtics’ 17th basketball championship by selling customers a doughnut for 17 cents with the purchase of any coffee beverage.

To add to the festivities, Celtics captain Paul Pierce (above) is set to make surprise visits to three Dunkin’ locations in the Greater Boston market, the chain said.

Doug Koval, the chain's director of field marketing for the Northeast, said in a statement: "“Dunkin’ Donuts is very excited to celebrate the Boston Celtics raising another championship banner with our customers. Our customers are getting a championship Dunkin’ Deal with the $0.17 donut, and we are thrilled to have Paul Pierce visiting Dunkin’ Donuts and sending three lucky winners to Boston Celtics opening night.”
