Family Endowment Partners taps Bufferd

Family Endowment Partners LP, an independent private investment firm headquartered in Boston, said today that Allan S. Bufferd, treasurer emeritus of MIT, has joined the firm as executive chairman.

While at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Bufferd contributed to the formation of investment policies and management of its endowment, retirement funds, and other assets, which grew during his career from $600 million to $12 billion, Family Endowment Partners noted.

“Allan is synonymous with endowment investing, and his long and successful tenure at MIT lends unparalleled expertise and leadership to our firm,” Robert Tishman, managing partner of Family Endowment Partners, said in a statement. “His experience will prove invaluable, especially during these challenging market conditions.”
