Myvu Corp. of Westwood today announced that its Myvu Crystal eye-wear mobile media play is now fully compatible with Apple Inc.'s iPhone, in addition to existing compatibility with all Apple iPod with video models.
According to Myvu, its video eyewear "transforms mobile media players into hands-free, full-screen private viewing experiences" with DVD-like quality.
The accessory that makes the Myvu Crystal media player compatible with the iPhone can be purchased at its website for $24.95, the company said.
Kip Kokinakis, president and chief executive of Myvu, said in a statement, “We’re extending our reach into the consumer market as the first video eyewear to fully integrate plug-and-play functionality with all iPod with video models and now the Apple iPhone.”
Myvu Crystal eyewear unit itself has a suggested retail price of $299.95, and the package includes a rechargeable battery, a USB charging cable, and noise-cancelling earphones from Ultimate Ears, the company said.
