NTCTlogo108.jpgNetScout Systems Inc., a Westford firm that sells systems that report on network performance, reaffirmed its fiscal 2009 guidance late yesterday night.

The company also said it expects fiscal second-quarter earnings of 10 cents to 12 cents per share, on sales of $68 million to $69 million.

NetScout said the profit and sales outlook includes items such as stock options costs, a purchase accounting adjustment for deferred revenue, and other expenses. The company expects adjusted earnings of 21 cents to 23 cents per share and adjusted revenue of $72 million to $73 million.

For the quarter ended Sept. 30, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters are expecting, on average, a profit of 14 cents per share on sales of $65.2 million.

The company said the demand from the wireless telecommunications sector helped fuel results.

For the full year, NetScout expects a profit of 13 cents to 23 cents per share on sales of $250 million to $260 million, and adjusted earnings of 55 cents to 65 cents per share on adjusted revenue of $260 million to $270 million.

Analysts are expecting a profit of 63 cents per share on sales of $266.3 million. Analysts typically exclude one-time items from their estimates.

NetScout said it expects "continuing strong revenue flow from the wireless and government sectors," which should partially offset the effects of the weak economy and on its corporate customers. (AP)
