EMC launches new business unit

EMC Corp., the data storage giant headquartered in Hopkinton, said it has launched a new business unit called Decho Corp. to help consumers protect information stored on personal computers and the Internet.

Decho, based in Seattle, will combine two existing EMC business units--Mozy Inc., which provides online data backup, and Pi Corp., a start-up which has been developing software to manage personal information stored on multiple computers.
