masshouse1119.jpg MassHousing, the state's affordable housing bank, announced loan commitments today of up to $2.8 million for the first phase of the Tri-Town Landing Apartments, a 66-apartment rental development in a smart growth district in Lunenburg.

MassHousing said that 60 of the 66 apartments will be reserved for low-income residents.

The project involves the redevelopment of a drive-in movie theater site that it is roughly a mile-and-a-half away from the Fitchburg MBTA commuter rail station and that is also served by local bus service, MassHousing said.

The project's developer is Great Bridge Properties LLC of Manchester, N.H.

Separately, MassHousing said it announced a loan commitment today of up to $6.2 million to "preserve affordability at Lamplighter Village, an 81-unit, Section 8-assisted housing community for low-income residents in Canton."
