Perkin1124.jpg PerkinElmer Inc., a life sciences company in Waltham, said it has entered into a corporate partnership with the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in support of the lab's advanced training center in Heidelberg, Germany.

Under the partnership, PerkinElmer said it will sponsor and have access to the German facility's center of excellence for molecular biology training in Europe.

In a statement, Richard M. Eglen, president of Bio-discovery at PerkinElmer, referenced the European Molecular Biology Laboratory by its initials, EMBL.

"International collaborations will be the key to future successes and breakthroughs in the field, and our work with EMBL toward this end is a very welcome step in this direction," he said.

PerkinElmer recently announced plans to restructure into two units. To read a Globe story about that announcement, please click here.
