radius1120.jpg Radius Health Inc., a Cambridge company that seeks to develop new drug therapies for osteoporosis and women's health, said it has raised an additional $15 million, increasing its second round total of private equity financing to $82.5 million.

The current funding round was by the MPM Bio IV NVS Strategic Fund, said Radius, which added that it has raised $106.5 million in private equity financing since its establishment in 2003.

"We are finishing 2008 in a strong position, with a broad and maturing portfolio of drug candidates for osteoporosis and women’s health, an option agreement with a major pharmaceutical company to license BA058 for late-stage development, and significant cash resources at our disposal,” C. Richard Lyttle, president and chief executive of Radius, said in a statement.
