Chris Passarell has joined New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc. as senior marketing manager of global sports. Passarell will lead integrated marketing for such company strategic business units as running, sport, outdoor, and kids, said New Balance, a Boston company that makes and markets athletic footwear and apparel. Passarell was most recently with Russell Athletic, where he was vice president of marketing.

Jonathan Sharkey will become portfolio manager of Pioneer Floating Rate Trust, effective Jan. 1. Pioneer Floating Rate Trust is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company with offices in Boston. Sharkey, who joined Pioneer in 2006, has 18 years of experience in the bank loan sector, including loan origination, analysis, and portfolio management.

Vikram Saksena, chief technology officer of Sonus Networks Inc. will be leaving the company at the beginning of December. Westford-based Sonus specializes in Internet protocol communication infrastructure. Saksena's current responsibilities will be distributed among the Sonus executive team members, the company said.

John Tomera has joined WorldCare Clinical LLC of Boston as director of regulatory affairs and associate medical director. The company, which refers to itself as WCC, is an imaging contract research organization that supports companies in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries as they conduct clinical trials. Tomera will be responsible for the management of all quality assurance and regulatory affairs operations, including ensuring adherence to all Food and Drug Administration and other regulatory authority requirements. Before joining WCC, Tomera served as director of regulatory affairs at Biopure Corp. in Cambridge.

Peter Dolphin has been appointed vice president of business development at Beacon Partners, a healthcare management consulting firm in Weymouth. In his new position, Dolphin will focus on expanding Beacon Partners' core offering of coaching organizations within the healthcare community to create and deliver the kind of enterprise strategies that result in optimum performance. Most recently, Dolphin was vice president of sales at eScription, a provider of computer aided medical transcription software, where he managed the national sales team.

Lowrie, Lando and Anastasi LLP, a Cambridge law firm focused on intellectual property, today announced that Matthew Ambros, David M. Roccio, David Lu, and Anne Reynolds have joined the firm and that Allyson R. Hatton has become an associate of the firm. Ambros was previously a law clerk to the justices of the Superior Court of Massachusetts. Roccio was previously a summer associate at LL&A. Hatton was previously a technology specialist at LL&A.
