Mass. gas prices drop for the 13th straight week

Massachusetts gas prices average $1.669 per gallon in its latest weekly survey, down 8 cents from the previous survey, AAA Southern New England said today.

The average price in the Bay State for a self-serve regular gallon of unleaded gas has now fallen for 13 straight weeks, AAA Southern New England said.

The last time the Massachusetts average was this low was in February 2004, AAA Southern New England said.

The latest average is now $2.42 below the Massachusetts record high of $4.08 per gallon set in July, the association added.
