astroturf.jpg Reebok, the athletic footwear brand headquartered in Canton, said that it is joining forces with GeneralSports Venue, the exclusive US licensee of AstroTurf, to "study the interaction between athletic footwear and field surfaces."

The companies said in a press release: "The goal of the research collaboration is to help improve athlete performance and help reduce injury risk through the development of better shoes and synthetic sports surfaces.
