Staples unveils "unique" holiday window display
Holiday window displays are wall-to-wall at the mall this time of year, but Staples Inc. is claiming a first - a holiday-themed store window display fashioned entirely from office products. (See the photo at right, which was supplied by the Framingham-based retailer of office supplies.
Not only do office supplies make for eye-popping holiday displays; they are also an economical way to make decor that truly capture the Yule spirit, the company suggested in a press release.
Staples said it teamed up with well-known uber-designer Andrea Schroder to create the display at one of its stores in New York City.
Some artists work in clay or stone, but Schroder's creation "contains everything from trees created solely from paper, to ornaments made from paper clips and push pins, to tech products sold exclusively at Staples," the company said.
The company's press release also included a statement from Schroder.
"My goal was to create a dramatic and inspiring window that proves you don't have to spend a lot of money to decorate for the holidays," Schroder said. "With a touch of creativity, holiday decorating can be as easy as using steel paper fasteners and brass head closures found at Staples to create a decorative snowflake."
Staples added, "All the supplies from the window will be donated to Boys and Girls Clubs of America after the holidays."
