Michael Scarpa has been named chief operating officer of women's clothing company Talbots Inc. Scarpa, 53, previously worked at Liz Claiborne Inc., where he served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer, among other positions.
Hingham, Mass.-based Talbots also said Chief Financial Officer Ed Larsen is retiring, effective Jan. 5. Once 63-year-old Larsen retires, Scarpa will also assume the role of chief financial officer. Talbots currently operates stores in 878 locations nationwide.
David Rochon, president of Upromise, has joined the board of directors of digital marketing company Modiv Media, the company today announced . Rochon's more than 25 years in the industry spans the Internet, in-store marketing services, retail and manufacturing. Under Rochon's leadership, Upromise and its partners have contributed more than $450 million to Upromise members' college savings accounts.
Todd Anthony Walker has joined Interleukin Genetics, Inc. of Waltham as vice president, marketing. Walker will be responsible for all marketing activities for Interleukin Genetics and will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, Lewis H. Bender. Prior to joining Interleukin Genetics, Walker was the worldwide marketing director for the Biopatch and OMNEX and synthetic sealants for Johnson & Johnson, having worked in the Ethicon Inc., Jansen, Ortho-McNeil and PSGA divisions.
Stephen Higgins has joined global data security company Utimaco, which has offices in Foxboro, as executive vice president, world-wide professional services. Higgins joins Utimaco from EMC Corporation, where he served as global practice director.
