Altus is reducing its workforce by 75 percent
Altus Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Waltham biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of oral and injectable protein therapeutics, said it is reducing its workforce by 75 percent, or about 100 jobs, as a result of a "strategic realignment."
Following the reductions and the departure of several executives, Altus said it will have about 35 employees at its headquarters. All of the lost jobs are in Massachusetts, a company spokesman said.
“In this time of global economic uncertainty and limited cash resources, we were faced with the difficult decision of realigning our operations to support a single clinical development program," Georges Gemayel, Altus president and chief executive, said in a statement.
