Boston Scientific wins Veterans Affairs contract

Boston Scientific Corp., the Natick-based medical device maker, said it has been awarded a contract by the US Department of Veterans Affairs for a full line of its pacemakers and defibrillators.

Boston Scientific said in a press release, "The one-year contract took effect last month and has annual renewal options for up to four years."

The press release also noted that "overall patient enrollment at VA Medical Centers has increased from 4.8 million in 2000 to 8.0 million in 2008 and is projected to continue growing."
