Cumberland Farms, Gulf Oil to move to Framingham
Cumberland Farms, the convenience-store chain currently located in Canton, and Gulf Oil Limited Partnership, a wholesaler of refined petroleum products based in Newton, will combine corporate finance, legal, and human resources operations at a single location in Framingham, a real estate broker involved in the transaction said.
The broker, DTZ FHO Partners of Boston, said it helped Cumberland Farms and Gulf Oil to lease office space at Corporate Center Park in Framingham. A spokeswoman for DTZ FHO Partners noted that Cumberland Farms has been the parent company of Gulf Oil Limited Partnership since 1986.
About 400 employees from the two companies will relocate to the new office (shown above) in May, DTZ FHO Partners said. (The image of the office building that Cumberland Farms and Gulf Oil will be moving into was provided by DTZ FHO Partners.)
A press release issued by DTZ FHO Partners included a statement from Joseph Petrowski, chief executive of Cumberland Farms.
“We were looking for a property that would fit our open working environment and culture, and allow us to have a viable, central location for all of our Cumberland Farm and Gulf Oil employees,” Petrowski said. “Our workforce has been key to our growth, and it was important to remain in a central location to ensure satisfaction, while allowing us an advantage in recruiting and retaining employees."
National Development of Newton is the landlord of the space at 100 Crossing Boulevard in Framingham where Cumberland Farms and Gulf Oil will move into, said DTZ FHO Partners, which represented both the tenants and National Development in the transaction.
