ddlogo106.jpg Dunkin' Donuts said it will team up again with the American Red Cross in a January blood drive titled, "Give a Pint, Get a Pound."

January is National Blood Donor Month, the Canton-based chain of coffee-and-baked-goods stores noted, and people who donate a pint of blood during the month will get a coupon that can be redeemed for a free pound of Dunkin' Donuts coffee.

This year, the program encompasses seven states, including Massachusetts, Dunkin' Donuts said.

A Dunkin' press release included the American Red Cross's requirements for blood donors: Donors must at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in general good health. Maine and Massachusetts allow those who are 16 years of age to donate blood with parental consent, the press release added; for additional information regarding donor eligibility, please call 1-800-GIVE LIFE or visit www.newenglandblood.org.
