EMC Corp., the data storage giant headquartered in Hopkinton, has acquired some of the assets of SourceLabs Inc. of Seattle and hired a number of SourceLabs employees.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, but EMC spokesman Patrick Cooley said that the deal was not an acquisition of SourceLabs, which will continue as an independent company.
The acquired assets and workers will become part of EMC's cloud computing business.
SourceLabs provides diagnostic and support tools for users of open source software, like the Linux operating system.
