Fidelity Investments, the Boston mutual funds giant, announced the launch of additional capabilities to its stock research platform.

The new offerings on Fidelity.com aim to help investors make more informed investment decisions and are available to customers at no cost, Fidelity said.

One new offering enables visitors to Fidelity's website to explore and rank research firms, the firm said, and another new offering is an expanded feature that allows Fidelity customers to do full portfolio-level backtesting of strategies on the equities listed on the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index, the NASDAQ-100 Index, or the S&P 100 Index, the firm said.

Fidelity added that it has also redesigned and enhanced its Markets & Sectors research.
