salary.com109.jpg Salary.com said it has cut 100 jobs, or 16 percent of its workforce, "in response to the current and anticipated macro-economic uncertainties."

The Waltham firm, which helps companies manage and pay performance, disclosed the workforce reduction in a securities filing earlier this week.

When asked how many of Salary.com's Massachusetts employees were affected by the job cuts, a Salary.com spokesman said the company was not commenting beyond what it had said in the securities filing.

The securities filing said that two company vice presidents were among those who lost their jobs.

The company's website includes tips to employees on how they can manage their careers; ironically, perhaps, those tips include guidance on how to survive a layoff. To read that advice, please click here.
