Starting this week, WGBH said that visitors to iTunes U can gain free access to science assets from Teachers’ Domain, a WGBH-supported digital education service, as well as to episodes from "Basic Black" and "Maria Hinojosa: One-on-One," two WGBH talks shows dedicated to serving the African-American and Latino communities.

WGBH began providing content to iTunes U about a year ago and has been steadily adding more offerings to the mobile learning initiative, a WGBH spokeswoman said.

She added that a WGBH goal is to make its original content available across multiple media platforms.

In a statement from last year when WGBH began its iTunes U initiative, WGBH president Jon Abbott said: “ITunes U presents a tremendous opportunity for WGBH to expand the reach of our educational TV, radio, and Web content to a global audience. We look forward to making even more of our programming available in the future by regularly adding new video clips and lectures to our presence on iTunes U.”
