Richard Steiger has been appointed as vice president of engineering and construction at Ze-gen Inc., a Boston company that has developed commercially viable gasification technology for converting waste streams into synthesis gas. In this new role, Steiger will oversee Ze-gen's project-specific engineering activities, including the construction and operation of Phase II of the company's New Bedford demonstration facility and the construction and operation of Ze-gen's first commercial facility. Most recently, Steiger worked on the design and construction of Verenium Corp.'s cellulosic ethanol demonstration plant.
Andrew Bennett, Sanjeev Seereeram, and Kunal Mehra have been promoted at Scientific Systems Co., a Woburn-based developer of technology solutions for defense and industrial suppliers. Bennett, previously a chief technology officer of the commercial robotics company iRobot Corp., was named vice president of research and development. Seereeram was named vice president of systems engineering. And Mehra, whose past experience includes service as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Co. in New York, was named vice president of strategy and market development.
Jeffrey Mitchell has been hired as the digital development manager at Connelly Partners, a Boston advertising agency. In this newly created position, Mitchell will manage all areas of new business development and sales for Connelly Partner’s full service interactive practice including such clients as the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism, Discovery Networks, and Fidelity Investments. Before joining Connelly Partners, Mitchell was director of sales business development for Boston Logic Technology Partners Inc.
Lauren DiGeronimo has been hired, and Margaret Brady has been promoted at Morrissey & Co., a national reputation management and public relations firm based in Boston. Morrissey & Co. has hired DiGeronimo as a director to add to its healthcare, finance, corporate, and technology expertise. In her previous position as an account supervisor at Nuffer, Smith, Tucker Public Relations in San Diego, DiGeronimo managed strategic planning and implementation of programs for clients such as McDonald’s of San Diego County and Ronald McDonald House Charities. Brady, who has been promoted from director to senior director of media relations, joined Morrissey & Co. in 2000. Her current clients include Covidien.
