IRS will offer free taxpayer help on March 21
The Internal Revenue Service said it is planning to offer free help to many taxpayers on Saturday, March 21.
The IRS has dubbed the day Super Saturday and plans to have 253 sites open nationwide on that date to "make it easier for taxpayers to get the FREE help they need in difficult financial times," the agency said in a media advisory.
The event is geared to help "people who earn $42,000 or less can get their tax returns prepared for free at an IRS or partner site," said the press release, which added that the IRS will also be helping to set up payment plans for people who may be unable to pay their tax bill.
In Boston, assistance will be available during the event on the seventh floor of the John F. Kennedy Building at 15 New Sudbury St., the IRS said. The March 21 hours are 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
