adidas413.jpg Adidas, the athletic footwear company, said it has designed a limited edition shoe to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its partnership with the Boston Athletic Association, the group that organizes the Boston Marathon.

Only 800 pairs of a shoe called the special edition Supernova Sequence 2 are available, Adidas said in a press release, and the Supernova Sequence, which is designed to "meet the needs of every runner at every level," has a suggested retail price of $100.

The shoe can be found at www.shopadidas.com; as well as such local retailers as Marathon Sports, City Sports, New England Running Co., and the Greater Boston Running Co., said Adidas, which acquired Reebok International Ltd., the Canton-based athletic footwear and apparel brand in 2006.

This year's Boston Marathon is scheduled to run April 20, according to the Boston Athletic Association's website.
