larson415.jpg The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce said it will honor "five outstanding leaders" on May 19 at its annual meeting, which also happens to be the chamber's 100th annual meeting.

The honorees are Peter S. Lynch of Fidelity Investments, past president Linda Whitlock of the Boys & Girls Club of Boston, Bentley University president Gloria C. Larson (right), Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino, and Jack Connors (left), a founding partner of the Boston ad agency Hill Holliday, the chamber said in a press release.

The event at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center is billed as the chamber's "centennial celebration," and former Secretary of State Colin L. Powell has been scheduled as the keynote speaker, the chamber said.

They have lived up to the ideal of this Chamber, set forth by our first president J.J. Storrow, that the business leaders of Boston could come together to ‘accomplish some good for the welfare of our city and state.’"
