Dunkin' Donuts taps Pedroia for new ad
Dunkin' Donuts, the Canton-based coffee-and-baked-goods chain, said that Red Sox star Dustin Pedroia will be its latest sports celebrity pitchman.
The MVP second baseman is scheduled to star in a new advertising campaign to highlight the brand’s “Turbo Boost” promotion.
The promotion offers customers a free Turbo shot with all coffee purchases from April 22 through June 2, and the promotion is available at participating Dunkin’ Donuts shops throughout Massachusetts, Maine, and southern New Hampshire, Dunkin' Donuts said in a press release.
The release added: "In the new Dunkin’ Donuts television commercial entitled, 'Dustin and Goliath,' Pedroia is faced with the challenge of a pin-striped giant on a biblical baseball field. Inspired by the story of David and Goliath, Pedroia takes a sip of his Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Coffee with a shot of espresso and takes down the giant with a ball hit off the mighty swing of his bat. The ad was created by Boston-based (ad agency) Hill Holliday and will begin airing on April 22."
Other local sports starts who have worked with Dunkin’ Donuts in the past include Jonathan Papelbon, Curt Schilling, Johnny Damon, Tom Brady, Tedy Bruschi, and Richard Seymour, the chain said in its release
