certain413.jpg Overwhelmed by the amount of information streaming your way? A Boston company, launching today, is offering a free suite of online tools that it claims will make it easy to display, share, and interact with data of all kinds.

Visible Certainty Inc., founded by Stuart Roseman and Jason Yanowitz, is dedicated to "making all arguments fact-based." Their first product, a visualization toolset, allows users to import data, display it, and re-chart it. Users are also able click through any chart to access data behind the visualizations.

The graphic that accompanies this post shows an example of the concept; it was provided by the company.

"My impetus was to democratize data," Roseman said. "My aspiration is to get people to think more deeply about data: to visualize it, interact with it, and share it."

This is Roseman's third commercial company. He co-founded Gamesville.com in 1995 and GameLogic in 2001 with his previous business partner Steve Kane. Gamesville.com was sold to Lycos in December of 1999 for $232 million. Gamelogic is currently a privately held supplier of software to the casino industry. Yanowitz was senior vice president of Engineering and employee number one at both Gamesville.com and Gamelogic. Visible Certainty is self-funded by Roseman.

The initial product is free at verifiable.com.
