American Superconductor expands business in India
American Superconductor Corp., a Devens company specializing in energy technologies, said that its AMSC Windtec subsidiary has licensed a proprietary wind turbine design to a unit of the Inox Group of Cos., which owns and operates wind farms in India.
"The license provides Inox with the right to manufacture and sell the wind turbines globally," said an American Superconductor press release, which added, "AMSC will help the company localize the supply of key wind turbine components, establish its manufacturing line, and build and test Inox's first prototype wind turbines. AMSC will receive an up-front license fee as well as royalty payments."
The press release did not specify the amount of those licensing fees or royalty payments.
