Officials at the Atrium Mall noted that the shopping center in the Chestnut Hill section of Newton has two new offerings - a children's store called Creatoyvity and fitness program called Stroller Strides.

atrium501.jpgCreatoyvity describes itself as a "retailer of toys and baby products dedicated to inspiring creative kids from birth to adolescence," and its Atrium Mall store opened today.

Grand opening festivities are planned through the weekend, and they include the obligatory balloon artist, along with appearances by a magician and face painting specialists, the mall's press release said. For additional information, please visit Creatoyvity's website.

Earlier this week, Stroller Strides kicked off fitness classes. According to the company, the program is tailored to exercises that new mothers can do with their babies. Taught by specially trained instructors, the program includes "power walking and intervals of body toning using exercise tubing and the stroller," the company said. More information is available at the Stroller Strides website.

Atrium Mall is part of the Simon Property Group empire. A real estate investment trust headquartered in Indianapolis, Simon Property operates dozens of malls around the country, including 14 in Massachusetts.
