Berkowitz is set to win public health award
Legal Sea Foods owner and chief executive Roger Berkowitz (left) will be honored with the Corporate Citizenship in Public Health Award at a breakfast tomorrow hosted by the Massachusetts Public Health Association.
Others being honored include Helen R. Caulton Harris, director of the Springfield Department of Health and Human Services; Derek Brindisi, director of the Worcester Department of Public Health; and Paula Johnson, director of the Connors Center for Women's Health and Gender Biology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, according to the Massachusetts Public Health Association's website.
Legal Sea Foods was founded more than 50 years ago by George Berkowitz when he opened a small fish market in Cambridge's Inman Square. Today the company operates more than 30 restaurants up and down the East Coast.
