Nuance Communications Inc. may be best known for specializing in speech-recognition technology, but the Burlington company has just unveiled its latest scanning application, which, among many other features, allows users to scan documents and send them to their Amazon Kindle e-readers, one of which is shown above.
The official name for Nuance's latest generation scanning application is the OmniPage Professional 17.
Compatibility with Kindle isn't OmniPage 17's only selling point, according to the company.
"Nuance has designed OmniPage 17 to help unlock the potential of the green office, delivering innovations that enable an easy and practical transition from paper to paperless – at home, in the office, and on-the-go," the company said in a press release.
The OmniPage Professional 17 has a suggested retail price of $499.99, Nuance said.
