Oracle agrees to buy Virtual Iron for undisclosed sum

Oracle Corp. said it has agreed to by Virtual Iron Software Inc. for an undisclosed sum.

The privately held Lowell company makes virtualization software, which increases data center capacity.

California-based Oracle, which expects the deal to close this summer, agreed last month to buy server and software maker Sun Microsystems for $7.4 billion in cash.
